Preparative meetings and Monitoring Groups meetings organised As planned, Preparative meetings and monitoring Groups meetings were organised in "Shkolla e re" and "Naum veqilharxhi" schools on Tuesday, 6 October 2015. Monitoring Groups members, as well as other teachers, pupils and parents, schools headmasters, representatives from Regional Educational Directorate and Roma association, heads of FSASH and SPASH Korca Sections etc, took part in these meetings. Special preparations were made before these activities, including identification of situation regarding pupils dropped out and at risk to drop out, reorganisation of Monitoring Groups, drafting Project objectives and activities to be organised, and so on. Special letters were prepared and distributed to Monitoring Groups members and each participant with the main concrete duties for them. Questionnaires were also prepared and distributed to teachers, members of Monitoring Groups, to be filled in for each pupils dropped out or at risk to drop out from school, subject of this Project implementation. Chairman of FSASH, Xhafer Dobrushi, opened the meetings in both schools and spoke about the values of previous projects implemented with the support of AOb in Korca schools, as well as the need of further commitment of FSASH and SPASH and their organisations in local level to mobilise teachers and support their work to keep pupils in school, to reduce school drop out, to prevent and eliminate child labour. Project Coordinator, Stavri Liko, made the presentation in both schools on this school year Project implementation, objectives to be realised, activities to be organised, working program and approaches to be used, giving also some information about AOb contribution and its commitment in elimination of child labour, not only in Albania, but also in some other countries, speaking also about the direct contribution of AOb in preparing and approving the Resolution on Accelerated Actions Against Child Labour….., by the 7th World Congress of EI, in Ottawa. Heads of Monitoring Groups, Mimoza Beqirllari, “Shkolla e Re” school and Enkelejda Cenolli, “Naum Veqilharxhi” school, spoke about actual situations in their respective schools, preparative measures and preparative work already done, including Monitoring Groups composition, objectives for each school and each group, the need of teachers, pupils and parents commitment to work concretely for Project objectives realisation, as well as problems to be solved during this Project implementation. Both schools Headmasters, Romeo Rrapo “Shkolla e Re” and Xhemlin Koleci, “Naum Veqilharxhi” school, spoke about their commitment and their contribution for direct support of schools administration for teachers mobilisation and Project objectives realisation After discussions, proposals and suggestions also from teachers, pupils and parents, the following objectives were approved for each school: In “Shkolla e Re” school: out of 12 pupils dropped out from school, most of them working, the objective is to withdraw from working and return to school at least 8 of them, as well as, out of 43 pupils at risk to drop out from school, the objective is to integrate in school at least 40 of them. In “Naum Veqilharxhi” school: out of 13 pupils dropped out from school, most of them working, the objective is to withdraw from working and return to school at least 9 of them, as well as, out of 38 pupils at risk to drop out from school, the objective is to integrate in school at least 34 of them. It was also widely discussed about working methods, individual plans, based on data gathered through filled in questionnaires and organising the individual concrete work with each of them. Special Meetings with Monitoring Groups’ members were also organised in both schools. Four monitoring groups, composed of 5 members each, (3 teachers, 1 pupil, 1 parent), were reorganised in each school. Teacher Mimoza Beqirllari was nominated Head of Monitoring Groups in “Shkolla e Re” school, while teacher Enkelejda Cenolli was nominated Head of Monitoring Groups in “Naum Veqilharxhi” school. Heads of Monitoring Groups, Olsa Rehova, Anila Shehu, Elvira Rushi, Eljoza Spaholli, in “Shkolla e Re” , and Esmeralda Ryka, Eva Cenolli, Eleni Kocaqi, Eda Dulo, in “Naum Veqilharxhi” school, spoke about situations in each Group, mentioning pupils dropped out and at risk to drop out one by one, difficulties they have, especially those related to economic and financial difficulties of their families. Working program, role of Monitoring Groups and personal objectives for each teacher, members of Monitoring groups, were also subject of discussions in these meetings. In “Shkolla e Re” school each Monitoring Group is responsible for 3-4 pupils dropped out and 10-12 pupils at risk to drop out from school, In “Naum Veqilharxhi” school each Monitoring Group is responsible for 2-3 pupils dropped out and 10-11 pupils at risk to drop out from school. It was important that some of Monitoring Groups members reported that their work had already started, mentioning some pupils, subject of this work, who have made visible progress. School materials were also distributed for 80 pupils from both schools. School handbags having inside more than 14 articles of school materials were prepared for 40 pupils from each school.
Special ceremonies were organised in both schools, prior to Preparative meetings.
Pupils, participants and schools’ Headmasters, as well as FSASH and SPASH representatives, appreciated very much this support from AOb, for this Project, including the contribution for school materials for families which have problems in providing school materials for their children and expressed their commitment to work hard and realise this Project objectives.
